The Satoko question arc revisited.

This is a reflection of the entire series but again I am amazed how they use the concept of cyclic time and mysteries of the psyche to not only do the storytelling but also to reveal bits of information in such a non-linear way where you have to put the pieces together. You feel like you are solving the mysteries along with the uh protagonists.

I really want to do an extensive project about this series because I believe there is rich philosophical and psychological discussions that can be had with each of the characters but also with collective senses of identity/psychology as well as the recursive concepts of time that is innate in Eastern culture which pairs so nicely with existentialism.

What is amazing about this is not only the huge foreshadowing but also the layers of connected keys this is a part of. It seems so innocuous but contains explosive amounts of information and revelation.

Philosophically speaking it assumes or demonstrates a sort of phenomenology and interconnectedness, relations of relations.

So the Mion-Shion question arc as I know it. Was it me or were they a bit sloppy? Where is Rena? Something is off about this arc… hopefully arc 6 will explain it in a neat way. It’s unclear who the “antagonist” in this arc was… was it really Mion?

I’m really curious to why they made these specific changes and what it entails…

I am watching other shows this season… but this is really the only show worth talking about for me.

Again, this season is missing the pure terror that I thought was better conveyed in the VN and original anime.

Ugh gonna rewatch the first two arcs of the original.

By the way, Rika is one of my top characters from anything ever.

While I am really enjoying this as a big fan of this series… but here are my complaints: this anime pace is too fast, too bright / not dark-heavy enough, it’s hard to get into the perspective of the characters.

I get more chills from the OP and ED.

That said.

We are in the Mion-Shion first arc. The whole Kei-Mion-Shion, Kei-Mion, Kei-Shion, and Mion-Shion are getting more established as well as learning more about the older characters.

I wonder what twist they are going to put in this different from the original. Will there be a different “perpretrator?”

Oh yeah, Ooishi’s voice acting is ultra top notch.
